To mark the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of WW1 Gillingham Scouts are holding a special family ceremony at Chatham Dockyard in addition to the regular ceremony for members at St Margaret’s in Rainham. All members are welcome to both so please see the details below.

Cubs and Beavers
In previous years we felt that the church service was not aimed at younger members so this year they will only taking part in the Memorial Ceremony outside. We will be meeting in the Cricketers car park at 10:30, in full uniform, and pick up is at 11:15.
Scouts/Explorer/Adults
Older members wishing to take part in the Church service should be in Cricketers car park at 9:30. Please wear full uniform and bring a donation for the collection. Pick up will be at 11:15.
Chatham Dockyard Family Service
Younger members coming by themselves should meet us outside the chapel at 2:45. The chapel opens at 2:30 and you need to be seated in by 3:00, pickup will be at 4:00. Please enter and exit the dockyard by the main gate in Dock Road and parking will be available in the parking area opposite Commissioner’s House.
Please note this does not include entry to the rest of the dockyard.
